Apply now for the University of Surrey (UK) MBA!
The University of Surrey (UK) MBA programme which is offered in collaboration with the International Business School – Lippstadt has been running for a number of years and we are always impressed by the standard of our German students and the dedication and enthusiasm they give to their studies.
The Surrey MBA is a high quality programme, as evidenced by the double accreditation by AMBA and the AACSB. The Surrey MBA recently appeared at number seven in the world in the QS TopMBA Scorecard ranking for Strength of Faculty, published in the Daily Telegraph newspaper. This ranking is a big vote of confidence in the quality of teaching on the University of Surrey’s MBA programmes. The University of Surrey (UK), School of Management, Distance Learning MBA appeared in a listing of the world’s top 32 distance learning and online MBA providers in the Financial Times.
The programme is unique in terms of its structure and the way in which the core modules are integrated rather than totally separated. The reason for this is simple, although, the aim is not easy to achieve in an academic atmosphere. In the real world of business and commerce, managers do not make decisions in isolation and they do not operate in silos. The modern manager is aware that his/her decisions will have consequences elsewhere in the organisation and it is this broader business awareness that we are seeking to foster through our MBA programme.
The programme takes two years and is comprised six core modules and two electives; in addition there is an Action Case Study and a Business Simulation. Finally there is the Dissertation/Project. Each module is supported by a face-to-face weekend workshop in Lippstadt with a member of the Surrey faculty.
In recent years a number of students produced high class dissertations as part of their MBA. Indeed, some of these are of sufficient quality to be presented at international conferences and published in international academic journals.
The programme is scheduled to start in April 2011. We aim for a cohort of around 15 students; unlike some other programmes, we like to keep our MBA small enough to provide personalised tuition for our students. I hope to see you on the programme in the near future.
